The Board of Trustees of the Albert Ellis Institute is delighted to announce the next phase of its expansion, growth, and development. In August, 2013, the Institute will have a new home at 145 East 32nd Street, 9th floor, on the east side of midtown Manhattan, where it will continue to facilitate the advancement of its programs and services. The Board made the decision to move out of the Institute’s traditional brownstone home on East 65th Street because the high cost of much needed renovations to the building in accordance with historic landmark district standards, and ongoing building maintenance and preservation would be an unjustified use of scarce Institute funds as a not-for-profit.

The Board of Trustees is determined to keep the provision of affordable, evidence-based mental health training and therapy as a top priority of the Institute’s mission. Our new home will enable us to continue to offer our existing programs and facilitate the creation of new initiatives. Despite the sense of loss that we will all feel in making the move, the Board is convinced that it is in the best interests of the Institute, its clients, trainees, professional affiliates, the public, and the future development of Dr. Ellis’s ideas to take this step.

Please join the Board of Trustees, AEI leadership, and clinical and administrative staff, who span over 40 years at the Institute, in celebrating this important move. If you are in New York, please stop by to say hello. We look forward to a productive and creative future!

Sincerely yours,

The Board of Trustees
