The purpose of this workshop is to review what we know about anger and propose a model to understand anger as a clinical problem that can guide research, assessment, diagnosis, and treatments. Existing measures of anger and aggression in youth will be examined. A new assessment instrument, the Anger Regulation and Expression Scale (ARES) used to assess anger in children and adolescents will be introduced. Empirically based treatments and new treatments for anger will be examined.
