Danny Gur, M.S., is a pre-doctoral extern at Albert Ellis Institute. He achieved his B.A. in Clinical Psychology and Child Development at Tufts University and is now a doctoral candidate in the clinical psychology Psy.D. program at Long Island University. Mr. Gur’s clinical experience spans from university counseling to private practice, treating individuals and groups presenting with depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, borderline personality disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, ADHD, and elimination disorders with evidenced-based CBT interventions. He has been extensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Behavioral Parent Training (BPT), and has completed professional trainings in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Independence and Freedom Therapy (IFT). Before beginning his formal clinical training, Mr. Gur also gained experience in crisis de-escalation and DBT skills training across in-patient and volunteer hotline settings. He has contributed to BPT-related research at Long Island University and IFT-related research at New York University (NYU). His present clinical and research interests include forgiveness protocols, LGBTQ+ populations, and suicidality.
