Target Audience: Psychologists, Social Workers, Mental Health Counselors, Graduate Students

Instructional Level: Introductory, Intermediate, Advanced (all levels)

Description:

Logotherapy is an empirically supported meaning-centered approach to psychotherapy, which is highly compatible with REBT. Based on research, the concept of meaning has empirical validation and presents positive correlation with well-being and negative correlation with anxiety and depression. Logotherapy-enhanced REBT has the potential to offer more efficient and effective treatment plans for clients.

The goal of this practical workshop is to explain how to integrate the logotherapeutic concepts and tools within the REBT framework at the clinical level. After an overview of both approaches, their similarities and differences will be described and the benefits of an integrative approach will be highlighted. Through practical examples and case studies, participants will learn how to integrate both approaches at different stages of the therapeutic process.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the main concepts and techniques of Logotherapy and how they are implemented at the clinical level
  • Explain when to integrate Logotherapy within the REBT framework during the therapeutic process
  • Demonstrate how to integrate the key logotherapeutic strategies with REBT strategies in therapy
  • Discuss the benefits of Logotherapy-enhanced REBT

10:00-10:45 (EST): Description of the main logotherapeutic techniques at the clinical level
